How the site works

View the Gallery to see camouflages by other artists. Once you are in the main gallery, click on an image to find out more information about it. You can also browse other galleries, and make new galleries by tagging.

Try Camouflaging if you want to test your skills. Clicking a challenge image will bring you to the canvas. Click and drag your mouse inside the canvas to draw.

Create a Challenge and a send it for your friends to try. Choose a stamp and position it on the canvas. You can enlarge and rotate the stamp as needed. To share this challenge to your friends, simply send them a copy of the URL.

History

Necessity is the mother of invention, and like all important inventions, Penis Camouflage originated in a high school spanish class. Just before an assignment was due to be turned in, an unnamed student drew a penis on the top of his friend's homework. With time running out, the friend quickly considered his options. A fast scribble-over would only further mar the assignment and probably not adequately hide the offending image. The student called upon his limited artistic abilities and deftly rendered the penis into a harmless siesta scene. The teacher never noticed, and thus, Penis Camouflage was born.

It became a fun game to play during class. Friends would "challenge" each other to camouflage various images. Later, with the creation of dick stamps, multiple people could camouflage the same challenge image into different things. It is a hit at parties, and at the end of the game, you're left with a ton of hilarious artwork.

The domain PenisCamouflage.com was purchased in 2006, but not much progress was made with it until after SuperBad came out and this video surfaced on YouTube. Realizing that the Internet would actually enjoy a penis-hiding site, we launched as quickly as we could.

FAQs

Why don't you have user accounts?
We're working on it, but we aren't going to let everyone sign up. Getting a user account will be an honor, and will come with important abilities, like moderation. Until then make sure you claim your camouflages with an email, and remember that you can click on the author links.

Where did my drawing go?
We try not to delete anything, but blank camouflages or scribbles will get marked for deletion, as do duplicates. If you are having trouble finding your drawing, remember that each challenge has its own gallery.

Why all the penises?
Because for some reason they are endlessly entertaining. Believe me, we tried more family-friendly games like hide the numbers or hide the banana, but nothing is quite as fun. And for gender balance we tried Vagina Camouflage, but it wasn't the same.
